[VIDEO PREMIERE] Can't Help Myself (The Luka State)
Indie-rock band The Luka State have premiered the official music video for Can't Help Myself. The model in the video is Integra Fairbrook, the face of Judge Anderson from the 2000AD comic.
The video was shot underwater in a large tank with the whole band actually having to play their instruments with an underwater speaker whilst cameras were positioned outside the tank. Lead singer Conrad had to actually sing which meant releasing more oxygen than the others and frequent breaks between takes.
Getting a bit of Chlorine in your eyes is fine when you’re swimming, but when you have to sing, with your eyes open for an hour it starts to burn really badly. Playing guitar was fun though. The thing kept floating away. It’s completely ruined now..I think Jake found it the worst. His snare just kept floating away, even after we got all the air out of it. We actually had to get someone to hold their breath and the snare under water for him to hit. I think Lewis found it the easiest. Fish to water!
This GORGEOUS tune was mixed by acclaimed producer Chris Sheldon (Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Feeder) and plays out like an epic mix of rock and disco, with crashing drums and swelling guitars all overlaid with Conrad’s angsty vocals. Gotta LOVE this song!!
This tune is taken fro their self-produced debut mini-album, The Price of Education, to be released via Project Records on June 8th. Check here a track by track description of this album!
