Hey guys! Time for a Q&A! I've had the chance to interview French DJ/Producer Martin Alix. The 21-year old DJ has already released music on Monochrome Music, Plasmapool and Disco Motion Records and he loves Daft Punk, Disco House, and all groovy music . Below you can check out my little interview so we could all get to know him a bit more!

1.    What inspired you to pursue a music career?

Even before beginning production I've always been a big fan of music. My parents used to listen a lot of music and I bathed in it. I started production when I was 16 years old, a friend gave me a production software (FL Studio), I never gave up I was producing more and more, it became a drug. Last year, I released my first track "Always" on Monochrome Music thanks to Aron Scott. At that moment I told myself ok this is the job I want to do ,I'm going to work thoroughly and in a year I released five tracks on Monochrome Music, Plasmapool  and Disco Motion Records.  My motivation grew up everyday.

2.    .What are your musical inspirations/influences? And what drew you to this particular musical genre?
My influences are clearly Disco, House, Detroit Sounds, and Jazz, everything that groove! I discovered Daft Punk, The Knight Club, Laurent Garnier, Ceronne, Justice. All the wave of French touch makes me crazy and that's what I look for in my productions: the groove. But, I love underground scene like Detroit Swindle, Tale Of Us, Lil Louis, Richie Hawtin and many others. I try to work with old disco samples to make powerful tracks while keeping the old school side. This is what I prefer to create.

3.    Let’s talk about your latest single Naked. How was the working process behind it? What inspired you to create such an amazing tune?
I found a sample into an old vinyl and I loved it, I found the beat and harmonies in a few minutes, I made the song very fast. This is exactly the kind of music I like to create. I try to differentiate myself by unique sounds and find the best groove ever, it's the most important to my mind...

4.    Out of the songs you’ve already released/written which means the most to you and why?
Unhesitatingly ... Gloria, this track is totally what I try to relay to my sounds, I’ve hugely enjoyed working this track, I spent a lot of time...

5.    Can we expect a full length LP any time soon?
It is not planned at the moment, I think I need to have notoriety before releasing a LP. I would make one a special LP Disco House. But, That's a lot of work....

6.    Are you planning any collaboration? Is there an artist/act that you would absolutely love to work with and why?
Yes I just started a track with French producer of Monochrome Music, we worked on a disco sample, he brought me his artistic quality, it should be cool. I would like to work with Norman Doray, Detroit Swindle, Claptone, Erick Morillo, Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier and many more. I love their work...

7.    If you were given the chance to pick one artist/band to tour with which one would it be and why?
Wu Tang Clan, Justice, Daft Punk

8.     What do you think about DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list?
I think this ranking is a joke. A ranking that considers the reputation and not the quality of the artist. Just marketing, music is forgotten in this top 100. The EDM scene absolutely no interest to me, I find it really rotten. But the underground scene is growing up and that's good!

9.    Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In NYC, I'm about to begin the process to live next year maybe...

10.    Name five things you can’t live without.
FL Studio, Friends, Gin Tonic, Music and Vinyls.

11.    If you could be a superhero, what would your superpowers be?
Invisibility

12.    If you could change into an animal which one would it be and why?
Birds are freedom...

13.    What’s your favourite song of 2015 so far?
Impossible for me to choose, I like so many different songs. Right away I'm a fan of this track Dusty Springfield - Spooky (Quinten 909 Remix)
