Rhys Lewis Unveils ‘Be Your Man’ Lyric Video
Hot off the success of I Know The Feeling, Rhys Lewis shares his highly anticipated fourth release Be Your Man, out now on Decca Records. I am super excited with this release guys. As most of you may know by now I am a sucker for piano-driven tracks and this one ticks that box for me. Rhys unveils here a soft side, a soulful ballad about the heartache that comes with unrequited love. His vocals are pure gold! This has to be my favourite song of his so far (and I adore I Know The Feeling)! Watch its lyric video below!
Notably more stripped back in comparison to his previous releases,
Be Your Man showcases Rhys' raw and powerful vocals, brimming with
emotion and conviction. His incredible ability to tell stories through
his lyrics shines through in this heart-wrenching track, exploring the
all too relatable feeling of being in a relationship with someone who is
still hung up on an ex-lover.
Rhys says,
Be Your Man is about getting closer to someone and then coming to the realisation that they're still not over their last relationship. It makes you feel like youve not really been given a fair chance when the person youre with keeps comparing you to what they had with someone else.
I started to sense that she wasn't ready to embrace something new as she was still holding onto the past. It was a shame because I thought we had something great, but I got tired of feeling like I was living in someone else's shadow. I guess writing this song was my way of dealing with it. I hope that people will be able to relate to the lyrics and that it helps others going through the same situation.
The release comes in conjunction with the news that Rhys will be embarking on a brand new headline tour across the UK, hitting Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham, before finishing with an anticipated show at Londons Oslo.
Having spent the past 12 months writing and recording for his debut album, Rhys has become somewhat of an online sensation, with his first release Waking Up Without You soaring to the #1 spot on Spotifys Viral Chart. He has since racked up 4.5 million streams in total and his latest track I Know The Feeling has received massive support on BBC Radio 2.
The 24-year-old bright talent has spent time between studios in London, Nashville, Stockholm, LA and Berlin, which has allowed him to develop a maturity to his song-writing, fusing a rich soulful tone with a lyrical immediacy straight from the heart of Bill Withers, James Taylor and Carole King. Rhys has an undeniable gift to capture emotions that will strike a chord with anyone, and has already garnered a troupe of loyal fans in the UK as well as internationally.
Rhys will be embarking on a European and a UK headline tour this autumn and his debut album is set for release in early 2018.
