Hey guys. I had the change to do a Q&A with Decibels, the electronic 5 piece responsible for amazing tracks like Ruza, their latest release. The lads have been busy recording new tracks so expect more music from them soon. They are Stuart Bruce, Dave Crawford, Anthony Luk, Marin Luk and Adam Branaghan! We can expect an EP release later this year and they would love to tour with Rihanna and work with Daft Punk so they can see what they look like! Check it out below!


1.      Can you tell us how you came up to decide the band’s name?
            We've all been in bands with one name, and I think Decibels was one of the first ideas we came up with.
2.      You all met in a rave in the woods, correct? How did that happen?
            Well it was a summer nights rave, which ended up carrying on the next Morning back at Adam (guitarists) house where the only people left were the 5 of us and we found we were into the same kind of music and girls, so we starting recording ideas together.

3.      What inspired you to make music together? And what are your main musical influences?
We all got tired of just being in bands around the same time, and I think our common influences would be stuff like Mew, Prince, LCD Soundsystem, 

4.      Can you tell us a bit about the music-making process? (Do you all get together, who writes the lyrics, etc).
Well one of us will normally record a rough Idea on a laptop and will then get into our home studio and pull it apart, then Martin and Adam will get a melody and the lyrics follow..then we'll listen back to it, scrap the lyrics and start again!

5.      Can we expect an EP/Album any time soon?
There will probably be another single and then hopefully an EP out towards the end of the year

6.      What do you want people to feel when they listen to your songs?
We want them to dance like motherfuckers

7.      Where would you most like to perform?
I think Coachella a night would be just fine

8.      If you were given the change to pick any band/artist/DJ in the world to work with whom would you pick and why?
Daft Punk as producers, mostly because their sick, but I'd also like to see what they look like

9.      Do you think this is the decade for electronic music to rule the musical world?
For our sake let’s hope so..


10.  What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Don't take too long sound checking, don't drink the rider, and don't be too good - if all other bands were like this it would make our life easier

11.  If you guys weren’t in a band what do you think you would be doing?
Trying to get someone else to let me join their band

12.  With whom would you love to tour with and why?
Rihanna, start a friendship then a relationship then spend the rest of our lives together working on the farm we buy with her money.

13.  Name your favourite song of 2013 so far?
Justin Timberlake - Suit and Tie

14.  What is the craziest thing each one of you has done?
Adam fracture his skull last week but he doesn't remember how he did it.

15.  If you could only listen to one artist/band the rest of your life, who would it be?
Radiohead.
16.  What artist are you listening to on your iPods?
Squarepusher, Daphni, Autechre, Of Montreal, Jamie Lidell

17.  What are the 5 things you couldn’t live without?
Air, Water, Grapes, Elevators, MJ Poster. 

18.  Now for the ladies out there… who’s single or is in a relationship?
It would depend who's asking.
