James Walker Unveils New Single ‘2009’
2009, the follow up to the recent Lullaby single, is the latest track to be lifted from his forthcoming debut album English Bones which is due for release on October 27th. Super catchy indie-pop track guys. Stream it below!
Speaking about the single James said,
2009 is a song that will always remind me of the times I had living down in Brighton, and how much I miss that place & that feeling of belonging. I now live in a different, much colder city, and long for the time in the future in which I can move somewhere more diverse & interesting. One day, I'll earn enough from creating music that I can do that, and until then I'll try to enjoy the opportunities that I have.
Having extensively toured Europe as a pianist, co-writer and collaborator for Adam Barnes, James set his sights on creating his own work informed by his experiences of love and heartbreak, to finding identity within the LGBT+ community, to recovery and rehabilitation from a rare heart condition. Inspired by artists such as Conor Oberst, The Weepies and Damien Rice and drawing on the influences of Foxing, Pavement and Tigers Jaw, James has performed over 200 shows in the past year over the UK, EU and USA.
James Walker’s first full-length album English Bones will be released via Wild Native Records and was produced by Sam Winfield (Amber Run, Dry the River, Supergrass) It's a collection of songs that James has created over the past eighteen months and it tackles issues of identity, nostalgia & celebrity stalkers.
