Jordan Andrew Unveils New Single "Midnight"
Speaking about the song Jordan said,
"Midnight" sounds like an R&B love song, but with a lo-fi twist. The inspiration is drawn from failed relationships of the past, and not knowing how someone else feels about you. The record sounds sonically big, yet still feels distorted in a controlled way. The vibe of the song is very relaxed, and simply put, "chill." Between the record reverse's and the filtering in the song, listeners might hear the J-Dilla, and lo-fi hip-hop influence in the production. The songwriting is on the simpler side, but tells a deep love story about a rocky relationship.
Jordan began singing and playing piano at age 5. His public music career began in 2009, while first diving into the electronic music scene. While developing his sound and social media presence under another alias, he launched the Jordan Andrew project in 2015.
His debut single, “Luna” took the SoundCloud platform by storm and quickly saw commercial success. More recognition would come later that year, when his follow up single “Mayday” premiered through infamous blogger, "MrSuicideSheep.” 2015 also lead to the announcement of his own platform “Mystic Select,” an artist collective and record label. After releasing his single "Home" (which he sang on for the first time) ; Jordan decided to take some time off, to develop his songwriting and vocal style. Releasing a final string of electronic music in 2016, his remix of Designer's “Panda,” received publication in “Billboard.” Following that, his official remix for Prismo's "Coexist” was featured in "Earmilk" and “YourEDM.” While releasing remix’s throughout the year, and than taking 2017 off, he perfected his new original content and rebrand for 2018.
