Selena Gomez Returns With Powerful New Single ‘Lose You to Love Me’
Selena Gomez is back with a powerful new single Lose You to Love Me, a song about figuring out that it's time to let go and focus on loving ourselves.
Co-written with Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels with production by Mattman and Robin and Finneas O'Connell (Billie Eilish's brother), Lose You to Love Me is quite intimate with an emotive piano-based melody and her soft vocals perfectly conveying the emotion of the beautifully-written lyrics. I am really enjoying how she used her vocals to create echos of herself in the chorus, making the message of self-love to stand out and soar brightly. Lose You to Love Me shares a beautiful message and has clear references to her break-up with Justin Bieber ("In two months you replaced us/ Like it was easy /Made me think I deserved it")..
This song marks a new era for Selena and is accompanied by a black-and-white music video, directed by Sophie Muller, that focuses on herself and the emotion of the lyrics. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song Selena said,
This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.
