Char Unveils Debut Single ‘Control’

London-based 25-year-old singer and songwriter Char has just unveiled her debut single Control, produced by Rapper and Producer Roots Manuva.

For Control, Char drew inspiration from her personal life tackling issues of struggling with mental health and self-love, existing on a sliding scale between strength and vulnerability. I am really enjoying her rich and sultry vocals and how they soar over the smooth infectious production. I am also enjoying how the song perfectly blends electronic elements with R&B sensibilities and melodic contemporary pop influences. Check it out below!

Char is a Psychology graduate and has now integrated this passion with her songwriting and development as an artist. Inspiration for the lyrics for this song has come from Char’s personal experiences, which she also expresses through her work as the Co-Founder of the non-profit mental health organisation Mad Millennials.
