Bad Honey Drop New Single ‘Circles’
South East London soul-pop duo Bad Honey, consisting of Lydia Clowes & Teresa Origone, have just unveiled their brand new single Circles, a song about finding strength in supporting one another within a relationship.
Right off the bat, I was drawn to the song's exquisite smoothness which is highlighted by the confident, soulful vocal delivery. I am loving the groovy guitar licks and dreamy synths that enhance the song's hypnotic, feel-good atmosphere, keeping me coming back to it over and over again. With Circles, Bad Honey showcase their incredible talents to combine elements of electronic music with soul, pop and jazz elements that beautifully back a memorable, soulful vocal delivery. Circles combines selective synths, soulful vocals and bouncing beats into a beautiful blend of alternative soul and lo-fi electronics. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Bad Honey said,
being in a relationship where both people are fighting their own battles, and finding strength in supporting each other. It’s a positive way of saying ‘I’ve got you and you’ve got me, and not allowing things to go round in a vicious circle where problems are ignored and the situation gets worse. We wanted to create some cyclic motion within the music as well, so we did this via the looping arpeggiated synth in the verses, and the layered backing vocal lines in the choruses which create a canon-like effect. We worked on this song with our friend Geo who we produced it with.
