Will Matta Shares Debut Single ‘The Score’
British singer and songwriter Will Matta makes his musical introduction with the release of his debut single The Score, an infectious piece of indie-rock music.
I am really enjoying the intricate acoustic guitars in the intro and how they back his smooth and distinctive vocals, instantly drawing my attention to this song. Then the song builds up into an infectious piece of indie-rock music with gritty guitar riffs and steady percussion which create quite a memorable atmosphere for his songwriting to soar. It's those lush guitar riffs and an infectious hook that keeps me coming back to this song and I think you guys will enjoy it too. Check it out below!
Speaking about The Score, Will says,
Something that I do all the time is argue with myself... The Score is me describing what that is like.
On his musical influences, Will says,
I had a crazy uncle who gave me CDs of Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix and AC/DC at age 12 and said ‘This is real music'. I always wanted to play guitar like him. He had a Gibson Les Paul. Then I discovered electronic music, got involved in the Cambridge drum & bass scene and my taste really opened up. My future releases have electronic elements, but The Score is one for my uncle.
