Alae Share New Single ‘Please’
Kiwi indie-pop quartet Alae, consisting of multi-instrumentalists Alex Farrell-Davey and Allister Meffan, drummer Jayden Lee and bassist Marika Hodgson, have just shared their brand new single Please, the fourth single to be lifted from their 7-track project Lucy's Mix Tape, out now!

What I love the most about this song is Alex Farrell-Davey's lush, soulful vocals and how they are packed with so much heart and ooze sensuality from start to finish. Please is an introspective song about looking at one's life and putting things into perspective and is beautifully wrapped around such infectious production. I am loving those high notes and how they soar over the smooth R&B-tinged pop production. The song reminds me a bit of 90's R&B golden era and sounds perfect for a laid-back weekend alone or even for some bedroom sessions.

To accompany the release, the band shared its official music video which was shot at Auckland's iconic Civic Theatre and directed by Mikee Carpinter. Check it out below!

Speaking about the video, director Mikee Carpinter stated,
I wanted time capture the band in a unique and iconic setting and aucklands civic theatre was top of my list. I reached out to them and they were amazing offering us up the venue to film in. The idea for the video was to create very arty and stylised frames with the band standing still like in a painting but keeping Alex moving. The song has a very slow grooving pace and I wanted to match that using long beautifully shot zooms.
