Margot Polo Unveils New Single ‘This Old Thing’
California-based indie-pop artist Margot Polo, the solo project of producer David Provenzano, is back with a brand new single titled This Old Thing, an emotive, chill indie-pop track trying to save something precious, either be it a dream, faith or a relationship.
With this song, Margot Polo reconnects with his indie and emo roots and I am glad he did. I am loving the song's nostalgic, and at times melancholic, atmosphere and how his smooth vocals beautifully convey the emotion of his lovely storytelling. I am loving this emotive side of him and how it sounds very natural and effortless, making the song stand out even more. This Old Thing is a nostalgic, emotive indie ballad with lush vocals, minimalist instrumentation, ambient electric guitar, and delicate piano keys. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Margot Polo said,
This song, “This Old Thing,” is my first attempt in a long time. I realize that this might seem like an odd-ball release for me on the heels of my EP. I guess a part of me is still just that earnest, emo kid from San Jose, California, listening to Death Cab and The Album Leaf, playing music with my friends, and learning to cope with being a human. I don’t know if this will be a one off, or a new chapter in my writing life, but if any of you connect with this song, even in some small way, it will mean so much to me. Music is, and has always been, about friendship, love and connection.
