Tinx Shares New Single ‘Crush’
Swedish, London-based alt-pop singer and songwriter Tinx has just shared her brand new single Crush, a revised rendition of Jennifer Paige's 1998 hit single Crush.
I am a big fan of the original and I am really enjoying how Tinx explores a more eclectic side to her sound in this song which was produced by Tinx’s long term collaborator Tylr Rydr (Ashnikko, Girli, You Me At Six, Kid Brunswick).
This new version completely erases any trace of the sweetness from the original production and highlights Tinx's delectable, sultry tone over a dark and beat-driven release, which draws influence from trap & drum and bass, though always maintaining her pop foundation. There's also somewhat of a sensual touch in this song that keeps me coming back to it and that bass is amazing. Have a listen to this gem below!
Speaking about the new offering, Tinx said,
I’ve loved the original version since I was a kid & when my manager jokingly suggested I re-work it, I gladly accepted the challenge. I got to reconnect with Tylr, who I worked on my 1st EP with and making this was just easy & fun… until I actually started to ball my eyes out in the studio, it’s not one to sing when going through a break up. That’s for sure.
