Christy Shares New Single ‘Forever’
Scottish singer and songwriter Christy is back with yet another gem titled Forever, out now via Made Records.
The follow up to his stunning single Burned Out, Forever continues to showcases Christy's breathtakingly beautiful vocals and impeccable songwriting skills and has won me over right after the very first seconds. I adore his vocals and how you can feel the emotion pouring effortlessly from his vocal delivery, instantly connecting us to his storytelling.
Forever is a hearbreaking song about wrestling with the passing of time and is wrapped around a stunning indie-folk/acoustic production packed with multiple cascading acoustic guitars backing his gorgeous vocals and enhancing the emotion of his delicate and vulnerable lyricism. I am also very fond of the way the acoustic guitars are joined by emotive piano chords and luscious strings that create quite a warm and dreamy atmosphere that perfectly enhances the emotion pouring from his vocals and lyrics. I am also really enjoying the touches of melancholia and how the song has a laid-back vibe, making it perfect for an introspective day home alone with one's thoughts. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Christy said,
Time is a strange concept. It passes us by in a flash. Looking into an ever changing face is an everyday reminder of how much of it has actually gone by. You can’t promise forever, because forever in a moment right now is different from forever in a moment tomorrow. Moments and people are constantly changing. I wrote this song in the middle of the night, around 3am maybe, after an intense chat with my friend about a relationship that recently ended. I didn’t want to wake anyone so when I sang it into my phone it sounded so soft and intimate, we put a lot of work in making the recording have the same feeling.
Accompanying the release, Christy has shared a stunning, intimate acoustic live performance video which you can check out below!
