Heren Wolf Shares New Single ‘Joy’
London-based, Italian chamber pop singer and songwriter Heren Wolf has just unveiled his brand new single Joy, a mesmerising piece of music about the healing process following grief.
I am a fan of his powerful, emotive vocal delivery and how it instantly commands attention and how it creates quite a dreamy and ethereal atmosphere. Heren's luscious vocals are backed by a stunning production that enhances the song's emotion. The production reminds me a bit of Sigur Rós and I am really enjoying the strings, steady beat and bright synths that give me dreamy and cinematic vibes that I think you'll enjoy. Quite an enthralling listening experience that you can check out below!
Speaking about the song, Heren Wolf said,
My music has a strong transformative element, and Joy encapsulates the longing for catharsis. The song utilises the imagery of pearls to symbolise the metamorphosis of grief into something beautiful. Pearls are the result of wounds that heal; it is the oyster's way of protecting itself from foreign substances. Similarly, Joy represents my way of re-storying myself in the face of trauma. After my dad passed away I was met with a great sense of apathy, and Joy was the first song in which I was able to begin to process my sorrow. With this song I try to shift the focus on the love that’s intrinsic in grief, but doesn’t have a place to go. Joy allowed me to navigate through the wreckage at the bottom and bring a ferocious hope back to the surface.
