Miki Ratsula Shares New Single ‘second’

Southern California-based, Finnish American singer & songwriter Miki Ratsula has just shared the raw and deeply personal single second, taken from their upcoming debut album. 

I am really enjoying the tone of Miki Ratsula's vocals and how they flow effortlessly over the warm indie-pop production. second is a song about the need to love ourselves first as a way to allow ourselves to love others better. This is a personal song for Miki who was worried their girlfriend wasn't going to love them anymore after undergoing surgery. second is such a warm, soothing piece of music with intricate guitar riffs soaring over atmospheric elements with Miki's textured yet resonant vocals tying everything together. Miki describes how the track addresses their anxiety around getting top surgery:

I had this underlying fear that I would lose people in my life after this surgery. This song specifically talks about my relationship with my girlfriend and being worried that once my body changes, she’s not going to love me anymore.
