Michael Lane Shares New Single ‘Fire in the Night’

American singer and songwriter Michael Lane has just shared his brand new single Fire in the Night, a warm piece of indie-folk music, out now via Greywood Records.

I am really enjoying the way his smooth, expressive vocals soar effortlessly over the warm indie-folk production, beautifully capturing the listener's attention to his storytelling. Fire in the Night is a nostalgia-infused song that captures the essence of a happy memory and shares a positive message of being true to ourselves and not allow society to dictate who we should be. This message is wrapped around a captivating production packed with intricate acoustic guitar melodies nicely paired with punchy drums that create an overall warm atmosphere perfect for a laid-back summer's day out with friends. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Michael Lane said,
After I got out of the army, a group of friends and I went hiking and camping in the smokey mountains. I remember how amazing it was, out in nature, in the middle of this beautiful gorge. Fire in the night is a kind of tribute to that time. Being in the army was being in a prison, and getting out and going camping was the escape. I remember how we made masks from tree bark and danced around the campfire at night, dancing, singing and sharing a bottle of merlot, ill never forget it! We are the light in the darkness, no job or status defines who we truly are.
