Callen Shares New Single ‘What Could I Do’
Nashville-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Callen has just shared his brand new single What Could I Do, an introspective pop song, out now via Wildefolk.
I am a fan of Callen's smooth, distinctive vocals which are packed with raw emotion, beautifully connecting the listener to his relatable storytelling. What Could I Do is a song about how Callen wishes he didn't take life so seriously while growing up, about letting go of relationships without closure. The song shares a message of the anxiety that comes with retrospect of things that are out of his control. I think many of us can relate to this song which is nicely wrapped around a polished production with cool guitar-based melodies that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone. Speaking about the song, Callen said,
What Could I Do” is a reflection of my youth. A good part of it is about wishing I didn’t take life so seriously growing up. Another part of it is a reflection on my letting go of previous relationships without really understanding any sort of closure. Together, those two reflections lead me to the chorus which is dealing with the anxiety that comes with retrospect and heartache aka shit that’s out of my control.
