Marcus Lindeberg Shares New Single ‘Aretha Franklin’

Swedish, London-based pop singer and songwriter Marcus Lindeberg has just shared his brand new single Aretha Franklin, an upbeat memory of a summer in Paris, out now via Rexius Records.

I am really enjoying Marcus Lindeberg's powerful vocals and how dynamic and soulful his vocal delivery is, effortlessly connecting us to his storytelling. Produced by Jonathan Thorpenberg, Aretha Franklin is a song about the good times Marcus spent in Paris with friends and it is wrapped around a bouncy melody and mid-tempo pop sound that instantly got me in a good mood. I am particularly fond of the cool guitars and memorable piano chords which enhance the playful, feel-good atmosphere of his storytelling. This is one of those songs I'd play when I want a boost of energy as its infectious melodies instantly get me energised and in a good mood. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Marcus Lindeberg said,
This is a song about one night in Paris when my best friend and I visited a friend and her twin sister. We sat on a rooftop all night, drank wine, smoked cigarettes, and sang to old classics such as Aretha Franklin. I saw a photo of the rooftop that we sat upon for days on end. I remembered how it was always hot and that ‘He and she’ had a fling.
