Soran Shares New Single ‘Space Boy’

Montreal-based singer and songwriter Soran has just shared his brand new single Space Boy, a Lo-fi, alt R&B electro pop tune, out now via Universal Music Canada. 

 

I am really enjoying the tone of his distinctive vocals and how they are packed with so much soul and emotion, soaring effortlessly over the warm production. The futuristic sounding song marks the beginning of a new chapter for Soran who considers Space Boy to be one of the first songs where he felt fully in control production-wise and took liberty to experiment in every direction he could. Apart from his gorgeous vocals I am very fond of the catchy guitar strums and how they are nicely paired with warm rhythms and smooth percussion which creates an overall feel-good atmosphere perfect for a relaxing weekend. 

 

Along with the sense of artistic freedom that creating the track brought to Soran, it also gave him the opportunity to honour his late mother and his roots by having his name written in Japanese on the single artwork.
