Alta Falls Share New Single ‘The Fire’

Brisbane duo Alta Falls have just shared their brand new single The Fire, the title track of their upcoming debut EP.

The Fire is a high-energy piece of indie/synthpop music packed with danceable beats and punchy hooks. The lyrics tell a story from the perspective of lead singer Nathanael's father who was describing events of a catastrophic bushfire when Nathanael was a small child. Nathanael said,
My Dad was telling me a story from when I was a small child. There was a sudden and catastrophic bushfire heading towards our house. He was working in the city and my Mum, brother, and two sisters were at home. Chills ran down my spine as my Dad told me the feeling of driving home that night, past burning coals and ashes on both sides of the road, wondering if we were still alive. Thankfully, the wind had turned at the last minute and we were spared.
This song beautifully embodies the feelings of such experience and was actually written right after the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires in Australia. The Fire is a way to reflect on the heartache but also a way of sharing that hope shines through in the end. I am very fond of Nathanael's smooth vocals and how passionate his vocal delivery is, soaring beautifully over the infectious melodies. I am loving the killer guitar riffs throughout and how they are nicely paired with lush synths and catchy percussion that create a high-energy and euphoric atmosphere perfect for a fun weekend. Speaking about the song Alta Falls said,
‘The Fire’ was the first song we recorded for the EP. It was at a time when it felt like the world was imploding – first, the devastating bushfires which were making headlines all over the world, and then the spread of COVID-19 started taking hold. It was an eerie time, and the recording of this song made us reflect on not just the heartache felt by so many, but that even during such adversity there’s hope that shines through.
