Dakota Hall Scott Shares Debut Single ‘All You Do Is Take’
American singer and songwriter Dakota Hall Scott makes his official music introduction with the release of his debut single All You Do Is Take, a lovely Americana-tinged piece of indie-folk music.
I am really enjoying the tone of his voice and how smooth and evocative his vocal delivery is, gliding naturally over the chilled out production. Taken from his upcoming album Bakersfield, CA, which is set to arrive on March 3rd, All You Do Is Take is a relatable about sorrow and how it can keep us from living, from reaching certain dreams and aspirations. Apart form his lovely vocals, I am very fond of the intricate guitar riffs that are beautifully intertwined with steady percussion, cool harmonica and lush strings that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere perfect for a laid-back day at home. Speaking about the song, Dakota Hall Scott said,
This is a tune I wrote while working graveyard shift at a haunted hotel in Taos, NM called the Sagebrush. A friend of mine had just passed and I suppose I had loss and sorrow on the mind and heart. I think this song has something to do with how sorrow keeps us from certain things; dreams and aspirations, etc. How it is self inflicted and completely out of our control.
