Soran Shares New Single ‘What If’
Montreal-based singer and songwriter Soran has just shared his brand new single What If, the latest single to be taken from his 5-track EP Space Boy, out now via Universal Music Canada.
I adore Soran's silky smooth vocals and how they are packed with so much raw emotion, instantly making us feel each and every single word he is singing. What If is a song that encourages one to stop overthinking and just live in the moment. I am one of those that struggle to stop overthinking and I try to live in the moment as much as I can, without overthinking things too much. This message is wrapped around a memorable production that features warm acoustic guitar strums that are nicely paired with a killer beat and emotive piano chords, creating the perfect atmosphere for Soran's relatable songwriting and gorgeous vocals to soar. Speaking about the song, Soran said,
What if is a song that speaks about a time that is now pretty far in my mind. The song is about stopping the overthinking and living the moment. I am really proud of the writing.
When talking about the EP, Soran added,
Space Boy tells my story in parallel with the Japanese anime "Space Boy Soran" from which my mother was inspired to choose my first name. Each song tells an experience that I lived the past 3-4 years and you can hear at the same time the evolution of my sounds shape. This EP is the introduction to a world where I, Space Boy, am about to dive to become the Soran invested with a mission: to reinvent the perspective of what is ‘Pop’.
