Sweet Tempest Share New Single ‘I Was Young’

Following the success of their stunning singles White Country and Someone God Doesn't Love, Sweet Tempest, the project of Berlin-based, Danish synth-pop duo consisting of artists Luna Kira and Julian Winding, are back with their brand new single I Was Young.

I am really enjoying how they keep that distinctive synth sound that made me fall in love with their music and how this new offering shows us a more vulnerable and personal side of the band. Out now via KIKIKIX, I Was Young is a flashback into Sweet Tempest' vocalist Luna's young adulthood. From an early age Luna suffered from intense anxiety which once resulted in her being unable to leave her apartment for a year, a prisoner in her own mind. This song allows the listeners to understand what Luna went through, a powerful message wrapped around a memorable production that features lush, expansive synths seamlessly intertwined with a memorable driving beat and steady percussive elements that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect to fully focus on the lyrics and Luna's gorgeous voice. Speaking about the song, Luna Kira said,
I was young" is a very personal song for me because it deals with a period of my life when I had a psychosis. Besides that, it's about feeling young and immortal versus with age feeling that life is not eternal anymore. It's a song that deals with some tough topics but it's also a song with a hopeful and positive essence.
