Mike Stocksdale Shares New Single ‘Bad Bad World’

Los Angeles singer-songwriter/guitarist/producer Mike Stocksdale has just shared his brand new single Bad Bad World, a captivating piece of indie-folk music out now via Saint In The City Records.

I am really enjoying his vocals and how they beautifully capture our attention to his relatable storytelling. Taken from his upcoming Ep, Five Stories (which is set to arrive on December 1st), Bad Bad World is a beautifully reflective Folk/Americana ballad that references dark times but still maintaining a hopeful tone. I am particularly fond of the intricate guitar lines, steady drum patterns, lively piano chords, redemptive chorus and soothing melodies that together create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Mike Stocksdale said,
Bad Bad World was the first song I wrote for this record. It’s laced with references to the pandemic and the general dark vibes of 2020 and 2021, but it has a hopeful tone. If you look too hard and too often at social media and news feeds an odd and untrue sense of reality can start to form. Things feel bleak, but the truth is there is so much good in this world, and it gets overshadowed, especially on local and personal levels. Every person you’ve ever passed by on the street has a story and it’s probably full of love and kindness and heartache.
