Pieternel Shares New Single ‘Standing On The Edge’

Dutch singer and songwriter Pieternel is back with her brand new single Standing On The Edge, a warm, emotional piece of Americana/Acoustic Folk music. 

 

 I am a fan of Pieternel's soulful, emotive vocals which effortlessly convey the emotion of her storytelling. Standing On The Edge is a song about trying to help someone but not knowing how, making you feel quite powerless. A relatable story written by Pieternel and Grammy Award winner Femke Weidema who also produced this gem. Speaking about the song, Pieternel said,

Standing On The Edge is based on a dream I had where someone was so desperately sad that he was ready to jump off the roof. The other night I dreamed I stood on top of that same building myself. I didn’t know why. I looked around and saw the man from my dream. I wanted to save him but didn’t know how. With my heart beating heavy I stood beside him and said ‘If you jump, I’ll jump too’ That’s when I woke up. For me this song about the fear and powerlessness of wanting to help someone, but not knowing how.
