Speaking about the song, Rosie H Sullivan said,
I started writing this one on the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool after my first visit back to the island since we moved. The sea was calm, and I gazed out the window of the boat, upon the blue skies and the crystal sea, the islands and rocky, heather coated rugged landscapes we passed heading into Ullapool. It pulled on my heart strings and made me realise how much this part of the world is a part of me. It is engrained in my veins and generational tapestry to an extent I cannot explain. So, I wrote. Wrote about the pull and longing I feel when I’m away for too long, and the emotions I can’t control when I am there.
