Hayfitz Shares New Single ‘Curl’

LA-raised, Berlin-based queer “gentle folk” artist Hayfitz shares his brand new single Curl, the latest single to be taken from his upcoming sophomore album, Everything Else set to arrive on October 6th via Vienna, Austria-based SeaYou Records.

Curl finds the talented artist singing the story of his personal queer journey, his late-discovered queer identity via an unrequited love with collaborator-turned-best friend, Sam Cope, Hayfitz details a confusing, often excruciating three-year period following a chapter of necessary separation and eventual reunion between the friends. What I like the most about this song is how honest and personal it is, giving us a glimpse of what goes in his mind and heart. His delicate, expressive vocals, which are packed with raw emotion, soar seamlessly over the infectious folk production that pairs intricate acoustic guitar riffs with subtle rhythms and atmospherics that create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for a laid-back day home alone. Speaking about the song, Hayfitz said,
I knew that as soon as I admitted to Sam what it was all about, that it was no longer going to be just hypothetical. It was a very dark internal chapter for me. But it had to happen one way or another as far as me telling him.
