Hazlett Shares New Single ‘Mama's Boy’
Stockholm-based, Australian singer and songwriter Hazlett shares his brand new single Mama's Boy, a dreamy and soothing piece of indie-folk music, out now via Nettwerk Music.
Taken from his upcoming EP, Goodbye to the Valley Low, set to arrive on December 8th, Mama's Boy finds the talented artist once again showcasing a more stripped back and raw sound that feels quite comforting and soothing, perfect for a reflective day home alone. I am a fan of Hazlett's dreamy vocals and harmonies which glide effortlessly over the captivating indie-folk production.
Mama's Boy is a relatable song about how sometimes it hurts more having your heart broken by a nice person, a message backed by intricate acoustic guitars seamlessly paired with emotive piano keys, subtle rhythms and enchanting harmonies that make the song such a pleasure to listen to. Accompanying the release Hazlett has shared a beautiful dreamlike video which was filmed the Swedish countryside. Check it out below!
Hazlett explains on meaning behind the song
There’s something disarming about a nice person, you build them up in your head that they can do no wrong and the minute they do it stones you. We don’t bat an eye at the scumbags and lowlifes when they cross us, we almost expect it from them. Maybe it’s because of the sincerity we dress the “good ones” in, maybe it’s our own fault or maybe at the end of the day people are just going to be people.
