deegie Shares New Single ‘Third Time’s a Charm (Tom)’
Los Angeles based punk pop artist deegie, aka singer-songwriter Anne DiGiovanni, shares her brand new punk/pop-rock single Third Time’s a Charm (Tom), the third single to be lifted from her EP, EXES.
What I like the most about this song is its infectious energy and how it sounds like it was taken from one of those coming-of-age movies of the early 2000s, but with a fresh, modern approach. Third Time's a Charm (Tom) finds the talented artist singing about a relationship that keeps bouncing back to you and has you begging for the final breakup to stick. A message delivered through smooth, confident vocals which are perfectly wrapped around soaring, lively guitar riffs, punchy drum patterns and an infectious chorus that make the song perfect for a fun weekend. Speaking about the song, deegie said,
When I started searching through my old journal entries for Tom, I had forgotten that we got together three times and he broke up with me three times - I thought it was just two - and that blew my mind. He was a classic emotionally-unavailable commitment phobe and I was drawn like a moth to the flame,” Anne said. The lyrics vividly paint the futility of on-again, off-again relationships with lines like “I can’t keep doing this to me, buying blank tickets in your lottery.
