Julia Calvin Shares New Single ‘Las Cosas que Aprendí’
Costa Rican/American singer and songwriter Julia Calvin has just shared her brand new single Las Cosas que Aprendí, a warm, intimate piece of music taken from her upcoming sophomore Spanglish indie-pop EP.
What I like the most about this song is its warmth and comforting vibes that set the tone for a memorable and enthralling listening experience. Written about all the things Julia Calvin learned from her loving father, Las Cosas que Aprendí finds the talented artist pouring her heart out and showing us a vulnerable and delicate side to her music. I am really enjoying her lovely, expressive vocals which exude raw, honest emotion, gliding beautifully over the captivating production that pairs delicate guitar riffs and steady drum patterns which together create an overall warm, comforting atmosphere.
Speaking about the song, Julia Calvin said,
During the pandemic, I was in a different country from my family, which was difficult & scary. I spent a lot of time thinking about them, hoping I could see them soon. One night I sat down at the piano & this song poured out. I was blessed to grow up in a stable family, with a loving father figure and role model. He taught me to believe in myself, to be empathetic, and to appreciate and celebrate the beauty of simply existing in this world. This song is about everything he's taught me.
