Holly Blair Shares New Single ‘Loud’

LA-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and filmmaker Holly Blair shares her brand new single Loud, the latest single to be taken from her upcoming second EP, Then Comes The Lightning, out on August 28th!

Loud finds the talented artist pushing her artistic versatility and lyrical bravery to a new level and Holly explores her coming to terms with her neurodivergence. This song acts as a way to be able to express how difficult it can be to exist amongst things as simple as a nearby freeway or a leaf blower going down the street. I am loving her smooth, dreamy vocals which effortlessly infuse the song with an ethereal touch that gives a lighter touch to her raw, honest lyrics. Apart from her gorgeous vocals, I am really enjoying the bright, shimmering electronics and synths which are seamlessly intertwined with a trap-infused beat, lush guitar and banjo plucks and delicate, emotive piano keys that come together to create an overall airy, comforting atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone!

Speaking about the song, Holly Blair said,
The song is really like a love letter from me to anyone else who struggles with feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated, for anyone who grieves for the world we live in and how much chaos and pain there is, neurodivergent or not. For me, the song asks the question, can it just be okay to be the way we are? I came into this world extremely sensitive and spent so long trying to hide that or fight my instincts and push through just to seem “normal.” The song marks a time in my life where I wanted to find environments and people that helped me feel safe in this world and love me regardless of my quirks. It really was a way for me to tell little Holly that it was okay to be the way I am, and let her have a voice.
