Fleece Share New Single ‘Where’s My Beach Hat’
Montreal-based LGBTQ indie-rock band Fleece have just shared their brand new single Where’s My Beach Hat, a sun-soaked, chill piece of music out now via Blue Heron Music.
Produced by Gus Van Go (The Beaches, Metric, Cowboy Fringants), Where’s My Beach Hat is the second single to be lifted from the band's forthcoming album and it exudes carefree summer vibes, instantly getting me in a good mood and ready for a long day at the beach. I am loving those smooth, expressive vocals which effortlessly capture the listener's attention to their bittersweet story of making the same mistakes over time and trying to escape. This message is wrapped around a hazy indie-pop/rock production that pairs lush guitar riffs with cool electronics and steady drum patterns that come together to create an overall warm, summery atmosphere perfect for a laid-back summer's day.
Speaking about the song, the band said,
It's a nostalgic, bittersweet one, about making the same mistakes over time – the mistake of overconsumption, the things that might be bad for you, working too hard, and trying to escape from reality. This song showcases our softer side, with a beachy, sweet, and soft vibe.
