Mike McKenna Jr. Shares New Single ‘Grassfire’

Canadian singer and songwriter Mike McKenna Jr has just shared his brand new single Grassfire, a captivating Folk/Americana song taken from his forthcoming album which will arrive this fall/autumn. 

 

Hist first new release since his critically acclaimed 2020 album, At The Edge of the World, Grassfire tells a poignant story about a love that ignites rapidly but tragically burns out just as fast. Co-written by McKenna and Makayla Lynn Parry and produced by Quinn Bachand, Grassfire finds the talented artist beautifully showcasing his gorgeous, expressive vocals over a chilled out production that instantly got me in a good mood in no time. The song pairs Folk and Americana elements, being reminiscent of the sounds of James Taylor, City and Colour, and Wild Rivers. I am particularly fond of the delicate guitar and banjo riffs that are seamlessly intertwined with steady drum patterns, together creating an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for a relaxing weekend.
