NOEL Shares New Single ‘Flowers at a Funeral’

Swedish singer and songwriter NOEL shares his brand new single Flowers at a Funeral, a powerful, heartfelt pop song about a past relationship!

The follow up to last month's stunner Out of My Mind, Flowers at a Funeral finds the talented artist pouring his heart out, picking apart a past relationship, admitting his part towards the end of such relationship, wishing it had a better ending because the other person deserved better. Unfortunately we cannot force our hearts to love someone, as much as our heads want to, it's the heart that decides and that makes a relationship last.

I ADORE his voice and how passionate and heartfelt his delivery is, exuding raw, honest emotion and soul, effortlessly enhancing the emotion of his relatable storytelling. This rough-around-the-edges indie-pop song swells to an emotional release in its chorus, and it feels like the weight of the world has been lifted by its end thanks to NOEL’s songwriting talents. Apart from his vocals, I am particularly fond of the intricate acoustic guitar and banjo riffs which are beautifully paired with a punchy beat, soaring electric guitar riffs and anthemic layered vocals that make the song stand out even more and perfect to sing along to. A gem packed with soul and emotion that you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, NOEL said,
"Flowers at a Funeral” is a really raw and honest song about a relationship that deserved a better ending. On paper everything was great, and in my head it felt right. However, I just couldn't get my heart to feel what my head wanted it to, and with that came a lot of shame. It felt unfair to the other person, who is such an incredible individual. I wanted the sound to match the lyrics in a way that both are vulnerable and raw. The title “Flowers at a Funeral” focuses mostly on how easy it is to miss the beauty of things in the moment due to being swept up in a situation coloured by sadness or struggle.
