Rory Taillon Shares New Single ‘Reunions’
Canadian alternative folk singer-songwriter Rory Taillon shares his brand new single Reunions, the latest single to be taken from his 4th studio album, Now It's Quiet.
What I like the most about this song is its warmth and how deep and rich Taillon's vocals are, effortlessly drawing our attention to his heartfelt storytelling. Reunions finds the talented artist singing about grief, contemplating the need for reunions as he watches others grieve the same person, people he hadn't seen for a long time and how they have this "reunion" to grieve the loss of a loved one. A very relatable song that is delivered through his powerful, classically trained voice that radiates raw emotion and soul. Backing his heartfelt delivery we have a simple, yet powerful acoustic guitar arrangement that together create an overall warm, melancholic atmosphere.
Speaking about the song, Rory Taillon said,
This song is about trying to make sense of one’s own grief while watching others grieve the same person in their own ways. I lost a really close friend of mine who I had been friends with since childhood. At his wake there were a number of people that I hadn’t seen since high school. Another friend of mine made a joke saying, “This is the worst reunion I’ve ever been to,” and I thought that was really dark and profound and decided to run with that thought.
