This track has had so many iterations, we actually wrote the song ages ago and kept revisiting it over the years. The song writing itself stayed the same but we kept switching up the production to match the mood of the song, we were trying to find a balance between being direct because the song is a question, but also inject a softness - so bringing it to a vibey R&B space felt just right in the end. ‘What would you do?’ is a shoulda, woulda, could I change my mind kind of song. A full 180 about writing off a past relationship. The song revisits the past: was it bad timing, not being in the right headspace, or just simply your eyes weren’t opened to what was standing in front of you. What would you do acknowledges that deep feeling of regret, your head spins, until you conclude that you’ll never know if you don’t ask.
