ANTH x Conor Maynard Drop New Single ‘Day of the Dead’

American rapper, singer, and songwriter ANTH teams up with English singer-songwriter Conor Maynard to release Day of the Dead, a Reggaeton-infused piece of pop music perfect for a warm summer's night.

Day of the Dead is a relatable breakup song about one wanting to reconcile and make things better until they notice the other person has already moved on. The song expresses the pain, shock and heartbreak that follows the end of a relationship, a message flawlessly conveyed through Maynard's super smooth, expressive vocals and ANTH's passionate rap flow. The whole atmosphere of the song is quite warm and danceable, with hints of anger and passion pouring from their delivery. Apart from the reggaeton rhythms, I am particularly fond of the lush guitar strums and how infectious the chorus is, perfect to sing along to while dancing!

Speaking about the song, ANTH said,
The day after me and my ex of 3 years broke up, I went to her apartment to try and resolve things. I didn’t want to break up and it was pretty much my last desperate attempt to reconcile with her and hopefully make it work. She didn’t want to see me, let alone want to look at me and was extremely persistent on walking away from me which wasn’t in her usual behavior. She had her hair down in a particular way that was different to how she usually wears it. I know that may sound crazy of me to notice, but when you’ve known someone and been as to close to someone for that long, you know when something is up. It turned out it was because she was trying to cover up the fact that her neck was covered in hickeys. I was in complete shock and it absolutely destroyed me. It hadn’t even been 24 hours that we had broken up. Deep down, to this day, I always felt that was the final defining moment that our relationship truly died and that is literally how I ended up writing this song.
