Charlie Bennett Shares New Single ‘Tea For Two’

British indie/bedroom-pop artist Charlie Bennett shares his brand new single Tea For Two, a lovely indie-pop cut out now via London-tastemaker indie label Young Poet (Conor Albert, Tamzene, WOOZE). 

 

Taken from his new EP Sweetie, which is out now, Tea For Two is a warm, comforting piece of music that instantly got me in a good mood and excited to want to share it with you guys. Bennett's smooth, delicate vocals beautifully draw listener's attention to his relatable storytelling, effortlessly conveying the emotion and soothing touches of the lyrics. Backing his lovely vocals we have playful melodies with cool guitars nicely paired with delicate piano keys and catchy rhythms that come together to create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for a relaxing day at home.

Speaking about the song, Charlie Bennett said,

I wanted to write something homely, soft and soundtrack-esque, whilst wanting to make something that would translate well into a live setting, which is how the call and response “da da da” refrain happened. We didn’t waste any time. I recorded the guitar sat on the stairs in his house waiting for the cars to stop going by outside, and the vocals were all done on the first take.
