Everett Gabriel Shares New Single ‘Better Off’

Alt r&b/soulful artist Everett Gabriel shares his brand new single Better Off, a captivating piece of music about the challenges of a long-distance relationship.

Out now via Lil Evans Records, Better Off is the second single off of his upcoming album and finds the artist beautifully showcasing his honeyed, soulful vocals and storytelling abilities over a warm alt-R&B production. Co-produced by Everett Gabriel and Gabriel Forsman, Better Off highlights the emotional turmoil one feels during a long-distance relationship and the reluctance to let go despite being seemingly at the end of one's rope. This reinforces the notion that love can sometimes cloud our judgment. A relatable message that is flawlessly delivered through Gabriel's gorgeous vocals which are accompanied by a delicate beat and intricate guitar riffs, together creating an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone.

Speaking about the song, Everett Gabriel said
This song highlights the emotional turmoil and sometimes contradictory feelings I felt, wanting my relationship to work so bad that it overshadowed my ability to see what would really be best for us in the long term. In the lyric “maybe we’re better off alone, than lost together, then again being lost beside you, would be so much better,” I was essentially trying to convince myself that I was okay with ending the relationship, while in the same breath I backtrack by saying if we’re going to be lost with no solution, at least were lost together.
