Anthony Quaid Drops New Single ‘Do I Scare You?’

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Anthony Quaid shares his brand new single Do I Scare You?, the first single from his pro LGBTQ+ debut EP project set to arrive in 2025.

Do I Scare You? is a pro-LGBTQ+ anthem written by Anthony Quaid and co-produced by Max Steger, who unapologetically claps back at bigotry towards the queer community. This empowergin gem is fueled by his experiences growing up gay in the American South and aims to uplift and empower others facing prejudice and hate with this record. A message flawlessly conveyed through his passionate vocals which soar beautifully over infectious production that pairs a killer beat, groovy rhythms and live strings that come together to create an overall upbeat, empowering atmosphere with an anthemic chorus perfect to sing along to.

Speaking about the song, Anthony Quaid said,

Growing up gay in the south, I spent many years living in fear - fear of rejection, discrimination, and violence - as a member of the lgbtq+ community. I suppressed many aspects of myself to seek acceptance and avoid triggering anyone, but one day, I suddenly thought to myself: ‘I worry so much about making others uncomfortable, but what if they’re actually scared of me too?’ Thus, ‘Do I Scare You?’ was born, and a whole new way of thinking for me. I decided it was time to finally shed my fear and embrace the person I truly am, unapologetically. By standing up for myself through this song, I hope to encourage others to stand up for themselves too, and live proudly as who they are.
