Grace Kay Shares New Single ‘Actress’

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Grace Kay has just shared her brand new single Actress, an infectious larger-than-life pop jewel out now via Trailing Twelve Records. 

 

Actress finds the talented artist singing about transforming herself for someone, but finally realising that we should never throw away who we are to fit into other people's life. A song about lessons learned, reclaiming personal power and staying true to ourselves that is flawlessly conveyed through her gorgeous vocals which soar beautifully over an electrifying pop production. Apart from her vocals I am particularly fond of the bright synths, groovy rhythms and steady drum patterns that infuse the song with a memorable dose of energy while enhancing the emotion of her storytelling. Speaking about the song, Grace Kay said,

The theme of "Actress" is how I molded and transformed myself into someone I didn't recognize; someone that would fit perfectly into "this guy's" life. Throwing away my own sense of self was the deadliest weapon used against my mind in my 20s, and being on the other side of it now, I have the clarity to recognize it.
