Melanie MacLaren Shares New Single ‘Bloodlust’

Nashville-based singer and songwriter Melanie MacLaren has just shared her brand new single Bloodlust, the title track off of her EP which is out now via Tone Tree Music. 

 

What I like the most about this song is its warmth and touches of melancholia and nostalgia that make the song perfect to play during a cold, rainy day home alone. Melanie MacLaren's rich, expressive vocals radiate so much soul and emotion that is enhanced by the organic instrumentation, effortlessly grabbing my attention from start to finish. Apart from her gorgeous vocals and honest storytelling, I am particularly fond of the intricate acoustic guitars which set the tone for a warm listening experience, being then joined by steady drum patterns and a fuzzy, electric guitar riff that enhances that raw emotion pouring from her delivery. The entire EP comes from a period in Melanie’s life marred by grief, loss, and illness and you can clearly feel that in this song. Check it out below!
