Denver-based singer-songwriter Holly Lovell shares her brand new single When Did I Lose You, a captivating indie-pop song about the chaos and confusion of relationship disintegration. 

 

What I like the most about this song is its touches of melancholia and how expressive and emotive Lovell's vocal delivery is, effortlessly capturing our attention from start to finish. When Did I Lose You finds Holly Lovell singing about how we start losing someone little by little until we find ourselves alone, wondering about the moment we started to lose that person. A message flawlessly conveyed through her lovely vocals which are accompanied by killer drum patterns nicely intertwined with captivating guitar riffs, hazy atmospherics and subtle piano keys that create a warm atmosphere that enhances the emotion of her storytelling.

Speaking about the song, Lovell said,

This song is about losing someone little by little, so slowly that by the time you wake up to it you can't quite figure out how long you've been sitting there alone. There is a breakdown at the end where we recorded ourselves wailing and screaming. I was worried it was too much at first but, in the end I chose to keep it because when I listen to it, it’s the release of grief from the body.
