Richard Walters Unveils New Single ‘Sudden Twilight’ ft. Fairhazel
British singer and songwriter Richard Walters has just shared his brand new single Sudden Twilight, a heartwarming indie-pop/folk song out now via Nettwerk Music Group.
The latest single to be taken from his upcoming EP, due out sometime next year, Sudden Twilight features fellow musician Fairhazel and finds both artists delving into the struggle with depression, capturing the powerful role of family and fatherhood in pulling through the darkness, from despair to hope.
Produced by Luke Sital Singh, this gem is packed with so much raw emotion and soul that instantly gave me the feels and got me excited to want to share it with you guys. I am particularly fond of how delicate and heartfelt Richard's vocals sound with Fairhazel's delicate, enchanting vocals and harmonies infusing the song with an ethereal/dreamy touch that elevates the raw emotion of their poignant storytelling. Accompanying those lush vocals I am particularly fond of the piano-based melody which is nicely paired with subtle strings and synths that come together to create a memorable and enthralling listening experience.
Speaking about the song, Walters said,
Last autumn I ended up buying a new piano. There’s something about writing on a real piano that can’t be replicated working on a digital version, no matter how good the plugin sound or how loud the speakers - an acoustic piano creates a wraparound of sound and just pulls you in. ‘Sudden Twilight’ is the first song I wrote on the new upright piano. It's a song about occasional visits from the black dog and how my daughters, and fatherhood, pull me out of my depression again and again.
