Serinity Shares New Single ‘Went To New York’
California-based indie pop singer and songwriter Serinity shares her brand new single Went To New York, an upbeat indie-pop song.
Written following a breakup, Went To New York draws inspiration from a solo trip she took to the Big Apple and shares a message that we also need to focus on ourselves while in a relationship and that sometimes we just need ourselves. I know so many people that jump from relationship to relationship, never taking the time to focus of themselves and enjoy being alone, and this song shares that same sentiment I feel whenever I see them breaking up once again.
A message beautifully conveyed through Serinity's lovely vocals and dreamy harmonies which are accompanied by soaring guitar riffs nicely intertwined with a steady beat, lush strings and an infectious chorus that come together to create an overall upbeat, radio-friendly atmosphere.
Speaking about the song, Seriniti said,
The song was inspired by a solo trip to New York City I took after recovering from a breakup. I wanted to get away and experience something new in my life. But most of all I needed some alone time with myself. Sometimes in relationships we get so fixated on being there for others and putting time and effort in a relationship, we often forget about our own needs. I needed a vacation and when I got home I realized I didn't need someone in my life right now romantically, I just needed myself. I decided to start working on myself more physically and mentally and have never been happier in my life.
