Sianon x This New Light Share New Single ‘grocery store’

Australia-based, British singer and songwriter Sianon teams up with fellow Australian artist This New Light to deliver grocery store, a heartwarming indie-folk song. 

 

Co-written with This New Light, grocery store is a song about comparing ourselves to our friends who are at different stages in life, making us feel the pressure to be at the same stage as them. A song about societal expectations and pressures but in the end encouraging us to find joy in the present, trust ourselves and move at our own pace. A very relatable storytelling which is flawlessly conveyed through their stunning vocals and dreamy, echoing harmonies which carry so much soul and emotion that is impossible not to feel each and every single word they are singing. 

 

Accompanying their gorgeous vocals we have delicate acoustic guitar plucks nicely intertwined with subtle atmospherics, delicate piano keys, subtle beats and strings together creating an overall warm atmosphere with a breezy coastal vibe perfect for a reflective day home alone.

Speaking about the song, Sianon said,

Written with my friend This New Light, the song reflects on how, in your 20s, friends are often at wildly different stages—some with houses, babies, or big promotions, while others are still figuring things out. It’s easy to feel lost in the comparison, but "Grocery Store" is about breaking free from that pressure and finding joy in the present, even in life’s ‘mundane’ moments, like a trip to the grocery store. Those small moments, after all, are what life is mostly made up of. With laid-back sounds and a sense of calm optimism, this song reminds us to trust our own timing and savor the path we're on.
