Rikke Shares Emotive New Single ‘Spare Keys’

Norwegian reality TV star / alt-pop artist Rikke shares her brand new single Spare Keys, a poignant ballad about loneliness. 

 

The follow up to her infectious indie-pop gem High Horse (be gone), Spare Keys is an emotive track about a broken heart, learning to heal oneself and thinking about others during this reflective time of the year. A song of vulnerability and introspection that is flawlessly conveyed through Rikke's stunning, heartfelt vocals which are accompanied by a delicate piano-based melody. I am also very fond of the way the song builds up in emotion with the backing vocals and intricate guitar plucks that come together to create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective weekend home alone.

Speaking about the song, Rikke explains:

One of the worst things you can do to someone is not be dependable. Living with uncertainty leaves deep marks on people & often results in anxiety & issues of trust. Spare Key is a song about uncertainty, not knowing, & a broken heart that has learnt to heal itself to then go on & help others. Something that I now realise can help you in healing yourself.
