Written by Leo Golo and produced by Kquimi Saigi and Leo Golo, Deciduous talks about temporary love and how it falls away when its purpose is finished, just like deciduous trees or teeth. It’s about letting yourself get lost in the feelings at night without worrying too much about how long they will last. To be in the moment and surrender to the passion and intense feelings of love. Speaking about the song, Leo Golo said,
I wrote this song about a guy I met one night and never got to see again so it really was something truly deciduous. The song starts sounding a bit dark but then transforms into a more danceable and groovy track and I think that perfectly represents the different phases you can go through in just one night with one person. When we were producing the song it wasn’t supposed to be a single so we had this freedom of experimenting a bit more with the production. The beat takes a while to hit and there’s also a synth solo going on at the end. I think that made this song more special and interesting.
