Miami Horror Share New Single ‘GLOWIN´’
Miami Horror, the acclaimed electronic project led by Australian-born, LA-based producer Benjamin Plant, share their brand new single GLOWIN', a soulful and groovy piece of indietronica.
The latest single to be taken from their highly anticipated third full-length record, WE ALWAYS HAD TOMORROW (out on February 28th via Nettwerk Music), GLOWIN' finds Miami Horror enlisting the help of Michael Harding whose rich, soulful vocals effortlessly infuse the song with a memorable dose of emotion while also giving it a retro 60s soul vibe. The song captures feelings of longing and vulnerability as Harding sings about being lost without his loved one, as they make his life brighter and glowing! A relatable love song that is wrapped around a polished production that pairs bright, shimmering synths with a captivating beat and groovy rhythms that come together to create an overall warm, blissful atmosphere perfect for a fun weekend out with that special someone!
Speaking about the song, Miami Horror said,
1960's soul has always hit me deeply, there's always been a depth and nuance that I felt other genres I’ve come to love didn't always reach. The genre was a big influence in the early days of this album as I was digging deeper through records finding more rare soul records. Consequently we played around with a ton of potential soul samples on this record, like the Errol Stubbs sample used on “Together”, but on this particular record we decided to build out our own "sample" based on some common soul chord movements. We wanted the song to sound playful, almost like a distilled homage to the era flipped into something modern. It’s quite different to our previous music but I think you can hear us in the emotion and sounds. Tim Ayre and I wrote the vocal idea in Sydney and it was performed by Michael Harding.
